Q:

Can JH1000 be configured to operate as multi-channel level converter?

A:

The JH1000 can be configured to operate as four channel level converter, or ready configured units can be obtained from us or your product distributor. To change the unit's configuration please follow steps outlined below.

1. Obtain a U22 integrated circuit (JH1000-PAL1) from your product distributor.

2. Disconnect and remove cover from the unit.

3. Remove U1, U6, U7, U8 and U9 from the unit.

4. Ensure that the U18 and U19 are RS232 drivers (ADM232 or MAX232).

5. Ensure that the MC3487 or equivalent IC is located in the U16 position.

6. Ensure that the MC3486 or equivalent IC is located in the U17 position.

7. Ensure that switches 3 and 4 are set to ON while all others switches remain in the OFF positions on the DIP switch S3.

8. Reassemble cover.

 Upon modification the unit's ports will be  assigned as shown below.
