JH1100 - Protocol Converter Unit

1.

Q:

What is required to change the configuration parameters of the unit?

A:

All the parameters can be modified by connecting a personal computer to the unit. The computer must be able to execute a Terminal program, eg  Microsoft's Hyper Terminal program. Standard parameters like port configuration (RS232/RS422/RS485), baud rate, and product specific configuration, can be modified by changing the values directly on the PC screen.
The computer must be connected to port 3 (DB9 connector) on the JH1100 using a straight data cable (see port pin-outs below). The communication parameters are: RS232, 9600 b/s, none parity, 8 bits, 1 stop bit (9600N81).

RS232, port 3 (DB9) pin-outs
pin 2 – data transmit,
pin 3 – data receive,
pin 5 – ground
