Ethernet Interface Unit - JH2004

Simple data routing using Ethernet interconnection
The drawing shows a simplified sample of the system interconnected
by using JH2004 Ethernet interface unit. The CCTV system networking and operator controls are routed using common Ethernet connectivity.
The JH2004 product is fully compatible with standard computer networking and can share a common data path. Other common
computer networking products, such as routers, bridges, hubs, converters, extenders or switches can be used for the system’s
interconnection(s). As the J&H products use the Ethernet connection to rout data only, the required network bandwidth is minimal and
therefore impact on the computer network performance is negligible. Also the CCTV system interconnection is made simple enabling any
existing workstation to be used as a CCTV system controller. The JH2002 GUI, which will be released shortly, can be used to gain full
control of the CCTV system from any of the installed workstation on the computer network. |

System configuration using JH2000 utility
program
The JH2004 comes as a standard with the JH2000 utility program. This program allows user and maintenance
personnel to create, store and send to the switcher(s) a complete set of the system configuration parameters.
Existing configuration data can be downloaded from the system for editing and updating. All configuration data
can be modified and maintained, at any time, from the central workstation using the JH2004 Ethernet interface
unit(s) connected to the JH2000 video switcher(s). The multilevel password protection limits and guards the
system from unauthorized access to its parameters. The JH2000 utility program is the necessary tool to simplify
maintenance and protect the video system’s configuration data, minimizing downtime in the event of system failure.
The configuration data is automatically stored in the form of a computer file for the backup purposes and can be
reloaded to the switcher(s) at a later time.

Other benefits and advantages of using Ethernet for data interconnection
The JH2004 provides a standard Ethernet connection to the LAN (WAN) computer system. This connection forms a
gateway to other equipment interfaces like Alarm Systems, Access Control Systems, Building Management
Systems and many others. Most important, however, is the availability of using Ethernet connectivity for the GUIs and other
CCTV systems’ integration products.
